Michael Weiler
Senior Counsel
Michael Weiler is a senior counsel at Forward Counsel LLP. Michael focuses on all stages of complex business, partnership disputes, cannabis, class action, and real estate litigation and bringing those cases to trial.
Michael attended the University of San Diego where he received a degree in Political Science and a minor in History. While in San Diego, Michael interned for the local state Senators office in their constituency related matters. Michael graduated from Santa Clara University with a focus on intellectual property rights. While in law school, he worked for the United State Attorney’s Office, Civil Division in San Jose helping defend civil actions against several federal agencies. Michael also worked in the legal department at Arm, Inc., the worldwide leader in design and implementation of mobile processors.
Before joining Forward Counsel, Michael was an associate at the Orange County office of Buchalter, focusing on litigation defense in business, employment, cannabis, and real estate matters. Michael has successfully litigated and defended shareholder takeover suits, multibillion-dollar wrongful death claims, Civil Rights claims, trade secret violations, legal malpractice and has represented municipalities. Michael also has experience in transactional matters including advising clients on professional sports intellectual property rights, real estate transactions, and corporate structuring.
Random facts: Michael climbed Mount Whitney twice.
What he does in his spare time: Michael plays hockey, hunts, and is an avid outdoorsman.
